A Swindon man has been charged with racial abuse after an incident at the FA Cup tie between Swindon Town and Manchester City in January.
Lee Oscroft, 24, from Kingshill Road, Swindon has been charged with racially aggravated harassment and using threatening or abusive words likely to cause harassment alarm or distress.
This follows an incident in which former England footballer Ashley Cole, who was part of the ITV broadcast team, was subject to racial abuse following the Swindon Town vs Manchester City match at the County Ground on January 7th.
He is bailed to appear before Swindon magistrates on 19 July at 2pm.
