In a bid to mark a monumental milestone and celebrate five decades of crafting homes, Swindon-based housebuilder Redrow is embarking on a quest to find its longest-standing homeowner.
With a legacy spanning 50 years, Redrow has left an indelible mark on the region’s landscape, having erected over 150 developments across the South West since its inception in 1988.
As the company commemorates its golden jubilee, it seeks to honour the individuals who have been part of its journey from the outset. Original and long-term residents are invited to share their experiences and unique tales, offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of life within Redrow homes.
For those who step forward to share their stories, the longest-standing Redrow customer(s) stand to win a token of appreciation in the form of a £500 prize. This gesture serves as a heartfelt thank you for their unwavering loyalty and invaluable contributions to the Redrow community.
Swindon residents are encouraged to participate in this momentous search, with numerous Redrow developments dotting the local landscape, including Abbey Manor, Badbury Park, and Redrow at Abby Farm.
Sian Smith, Sales Director for Redrow South West, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “This is an exciting year as we look ahead to commemorate our 50th anniversary. We can’t wait to celebrate with all the people who make Redrow what it is. Whether you’ve been with us since your very first home purchase or recently joined our community, we invite you to share your journey with us.”
Founded in 1974 by Steve Morgan CBE, Redrow has grown from humble beginnings, with just £5,000 and a vision to create homes of distinction. Over the years, the company has erected over 120,000 homes, accommodating a population equivalent to a major city like Nottingham. With twelve regional divisions across England and Wales, Redrow South West has been instrumental in shaping the local housing landscape since its inception in 1988.
Demonstrating a commitment to innovation and sustainability, Redrow recently became the first large housebuilder to introduce air source heat pumps into all its new developments, along with underfloor heating as standard. This move underscores the company’s dedication to crafting future-fit homes with greener, more efficient features.
Moreover, Redrow remains steadfast in its support for charitable initiatives across the South West through its regional Community Fund. Over the past 12 months alone, the company has disbursed £10,000 to various causes including Swindon Pickleball, embodying its ethos of giving back to the communities it serves.
