Swindon homeowners considering a heat pump will have the chance to see the technology working for themselves at a series of free workshops being held at a specialist training centre in the town.
Grant UK is opening its purpose-built heat pump training facility at its Training Academy in Swindon as part of a partnership with Nesta’s Visit a Heat Pump initiative.
The sessions are aimed specifically at homeowners considering an air source heat pump and will give them an opportunity to see working systems and speak to experts about how the technology could work in their own homes.
Each workshop will last around an hour, with visitors able to see a range of Grant’s Aerona 290 and Aerona³ air source heat pumps, from smaller single-fan models through to larger double-fan units.
There will also be a demonstration of a working heat pump system, showing homeowners how the technology operates in practice.
Grant UK’s renewables experts will be available to answer questions, tackle some of the common myths surrounding heat pumps and discuss important considerations when it comes to installation.
The workshops are being held in partnership with Nesta, which launched its Visit a Heat Pump initiative in 2022.
The scheme is designed to give people considering a heat pump the opportunity to see one in operation and talk to people with experience of the technology.
Grant UK Training Manager Phil Stanley said seeing a working system could help homeowners make a more informed decision.
“Giving homeowners the opportunity to see working heat pump systems in action is an excellent way to educate consumers and help them make an informed decision about whether this type of low-carbon heating system is right for them,” he said.
The Swindon workshops are scheduled to take place during October and December, with further sessions planned for early 2027.
All sessions are free to attend.
Homeowners can find details of forthcoming sessions and book a place through Visit a Heat Pump.
