Swindon Families Encouraged to Book Free Holiday Activities and Food Programme for Easter

Swindon families with children who participated in the Holiday and Food Programme (HAF) in 2023 are urged to check their emails for invitations to book four funded activities over the upcoming Easter holidays.

The Department for Education (DfE) is funding local authorities, including Swindon, to coordinate this initiative, providing healthy food and enriching activities for eligible children during school holidays throughout 2024.

Places will be available at a range of holiday club providers, and offer eligible children the opportunity to attend sessions four hours per day for four days over the Spring, four days per week for four weeks over the Summer, and for four days over the Winter school holidays.

Your Holiday Starts Now

Approximately 7,000 children in Swindon are eligible for free holiday provision under this programme.

Activities offered include arts and crafts, sports, and games, giving children the chance to try new experiences, meet new friends, and develop new skills while enjoying a nutritious hot meal each day.

Eligible families have until the start of the Easter holidays to secure their spots. To access the programme, children must fall into one of several categories, including those receiving benefits-related free school meals, children in need, those under child protection, and young carers.

The HAF team can be contacted via email at HAF@Swindon.gov.uk for any inquiries regarding activities or bookings.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity for a memorable and enriching Easter break!
