Swindon Cricket Club is gearing up to host its largest annual fundraising event – the Family Fireworks & Bonfire Night 2024. Taking place on Saturday, 2nd November, this much-loved local tradition promises an evening of festive cheer, family fun, and a spectacular fireworks display.
Situated at SN1 2EE, Swindon Cricket Club is a volunteer-run community hub that not only provides a space for cricket but also fosters social connections and volunteer opportunities for all. The bonfire night event is one of the key fundraisers that helps the club continue its work in the community, and each year it grows in popularity.
Gates will open at 5:00 PM, giving attendees plenty of time to soak up the festive atmosphere. The night will be soundtracked by family-friendly music from the pavilion, with a DJ setting the tone for an evening of celebration. Little ones will be entertained by small funfair rides and sweet treats courtesy of Scarrots Circus, while adults can enjoy a range of hot and cold beverages, with the bar serving up alcohol as well. Swindon Cricket Club’s professional catering partners, Goody’s, will also be on hand from 5:00 PM, dishing out delicious hot food to fuel the evening’s excitement.
At the centre of the event will be the lighting of the bonfire, a symbol of autumn’s warmth and community spirit. Once the flames are flickering, Distant Thunder will take charge of the much-anticipated fireworks show, lighting up the night sky with a dazzling display of pyrotechnics. As always, timings will remain flexible to ensure everyone’s safety, with Distant Thunder working closely with technical teams to deliver a safe and memorable experience.
In the spirit of inclusivity, Swindon Cricket Club has arranged 10 disabled parking spaces for those with a blue badge or correct ticket, although able-bodied attendees are kindly asked to purchase standard tickets. Given the popularity of this event, no tickets will be sold at the door, so it’s strongly recommended to book in advance via TicketSource to avoid disappointment. This event has sold out every year, and tickets are already going fast.
Swindon Cricket Club’s Bonfire Night is not only a fantastic evening out for families but also a crucial fundraising initiative that supports the club’s ongoing activities. Your attendance helps keep the club thriving and ensures it can continue to provide opportunities for all within the community.
Mark your calendars for an evening of autumnal magic, and don’t miss out on one of Swindon’s most cherished annual events.
