The landmark deal, negotiated and spearheaded by Swindon’s own corporate finance experts at Watersheds, will form a formidable market-leading flight case group.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Absolute Casing is renowned for its bespoke protective flight cases, serving diverse sectors including Formula 1, Premier League football, the Olympics, medical, television production, and the oil and gas industry. Managing Director Ed Franklin saw the acquisition of Nomad Cases as a critical step to expanding market share and enhancing in-house capabilities.

Nomad Cases, a well-established name in the industry with a team of 29 based in Market Harborough, presented an appealing opportunity for Absolute Casing. Franklin remarked, “There is significant synergy between Absolute Casing and Nomad Cases in terms of our services and client base. With Nomad’s owner contemplating retirement, we were eager to explore this opportunity. Having previously collaborated on projects, I was confident that Absolute Casing would be an excellent new home for Nomad’s customers and staff.”

The acquisition process was expertly managed by Watersheds, whose support allowed Absolute Casing to remain focused on its day-to-day operations. “The team at Watersheds provided invaluable advice and support throughout the entire process, accommodating our schedule and ensuring every detail was meticulously handled,” Franklin added.

Jessica Painter, a partner at Watersheds, highlighted the strategic value of such acquisitions: “A well-executed acquisition can significantly drive business growth. Our role as advisors is to provide balanced perspectives and foresee the needs of both parties to facilitate a smooth transaction. In today’s challenging funding landscape, having a specialist corporate finance advisor can make all the difference in securing the best outcomes for your business.”

Legal guidance for the transaction was provided by Thrings and Marriott Harrison, with funding arranged through HSBC Commercial Banking.
