Swindon Community Safety Partnership Seeks Public Input to Shape Future Priorities

Residents of Swindon are being called upon to share their views on community safety concerns, as the Swindon Community Safety Partnership (CSP) aims to refine its priorities for the next three years. The CSP, which brings together local organisations to combat crime, disorder, and anti-social behaviour, is urging the public to participate in a survey that will inform its upcoming Community Safety Plan.

This survey is an opportunity for local people to express their concerns about various issues, including anti-social behaviour, serious violence, hate crime, extremism, domestic abuse, and drugs. The responses will play a crucial role in determining whether enough is being done to address these issues and where further action is needed.

The Swindon Borough Council’s Community Safety Team, alongside other CSP agencies, will be actively engaging with residents over the coming weeks through events and pop-up stands across the town. These interactions are designed to gather valuable feedback and encourage widespread participation in the survey.

Councillor Jim Grant, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Partnerships, emphasised the importance of public involvement: “It’s essential that we hear from as many residents as possible so that the Community Safety Partnership can focus on the issues that matter most to the community. We’ve already responded to concerns about anti-social behaviour in certain hotspots by introducing Community Safety Wardens, thanks to funding from the Police and Crime Commissioner. This is just one example of how we can take proactive measures when we understand the community’s needs.”

The results of the survey will directly influence the new Community Safety Plan, ensuring that it reflects the concerns and priorities of Swindon’s residents. The survey, which only takes a few minutes to complete, is available on the Council’s Let’s Talk Swindon engagement hub. Those who take part will also have the chance to enter a prize draw to win a £50 Love2shop voucher. The survey remains open until 6th October.
