Swindon Borough Council has today proudly announced that over 98.6% of children slated to begin primary school in September have been offered placements at their first-choice schools.
The School Admissions team at Swindon Borough Council processed a total of 2,432 on-time applications for primary school places with parents having the option to request placements in up to three schools, and an impressive 99.8% received offers for one of their top three preferences.
The application deadline for primary school placements was January 15th, 2024. Today, parents who applied online and opted to receive their offer via email will receive a notification. For those who applied after the deadline or declined an email offer, letters will be dispatched throughout the day.
Annette Perrington, Director of Inclusion and Achievement at Swindon Borough Council, expressed her delight, stating: “We are fortunate to have outstanding primary schools in Swindon, and I am thrilled that 98.6% of pupils will be attending their first-choice school come September. The Admissions team consistently demonstrates dedication in processing thousands of applications each year. Starting school is an exciting yet daunting milestone for parents and children alike. Providing parents with a confirmed place at their preferred school offers reassurance. I extend my best wishes to all children and parents embarking on this journey in Reception in 2024.”
