There’s a friendly shake-up in Wiltshire’s bar scene, and it’s not just the cocktails being stirred. Swindon’s very own Old Town Laundry Bar have scrubbed up nicely and made it into the finals of Best Bar in Wiltshire in this year’s Muddy Stilettos Awards, and word on the street is – they’re currently leading the pack.
Going up against tough competition including The Vault (also in Swindon’s Old Town), The Cellar by Wine Monkey (Chippenham), Still Sisters (Trowbridge), and Kettlesmith’s (Corsham), The Laundry Bar has been cleaning up the votes since the shortlist was announced.

But with the vote still open, the final result hangs in the balance. A nudge from Swindon locals might just seal the deal.
Now in their 12th year, the Muddy Awards are known for celebrating the best indie businesses in each county – no entry fee, no fluff, just a solid nod from real punters. With over half a million votes cast last year, the awards have become the go-to for recognising quality spots across food, drink, fashion, lifestyle, and more. Votes update every 15 minutes, and readers can keep tabs on the competition through a live leaderboard.
Danny Mason, owner of The Laundry Bar, said: “We’re delighted our little laundromat has made it to the next round for Best Bar in Wiltshire — not bad for two years of mischief, cocktails, and dirty loads.
“We’ve had loads of love and glowing reviews, now we just need your votes to bring it home. Because let’s be honest… the best bar in Wiltshire should be hidden in plain sight in Swindon, right?”
If you haven’t yet cast your vote, now’s the time to do so. With the bar bringing a unique spin to Old Town nightlife and mixing up some of the quirkiest cocktails in the county, a little hometown support could push them over the line.
Voting is still open – and if The Laundry Bar’s blend of cheeky charm and proper drinks has ever made your night, it’s worth two clicks to help them bring the win back to Swindon.
