For the first time in a decade, Swindon Town Football Club’s home ground, The County Ground, will be the venue for a music event in Swindon in May 2024.
The County Ground last played host to ‘The Big Summer Session’ in 2013, featuring Peter Andre as the headline act.
In September 2023, Swindon Town Football Club unveiled plans to organise a concert at the stadium. Seeking input from the fans on their preferences for performers at SN1, the club initiated a survey that garnered responses from over 3,500 individuals in Swindon and further afield.
Announcing the concerts on the official club website CEO Anthony Hall Said: “We are delighted to announce that the County Ground will hold its first concert in 11 years and we look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to the two-day event being held over the May Bank Holiday weekend with a great line up of artists.
We look forward to working with everyone and holding an event that we hope will become part of our diaries year after year.
This also gives the whole community a great way to enjoy the County Ground not only through football but through music as we continue our drive to engage all.”
The weekend festivities will kick off on Saturday, 25th May, with Chris Moyles presenting the ’90s Hangover’ for those aged 18+.
This event marks the commencement of the former Radio 1 DJ’s Euros Special tour, setting the stage for the UEFA Euro 2024 competition.
The second event will be on Sunday 26th May, presenting ‘Could Be Real’ Tribute Festival, bringing you The UK’s Best Tribute artists. This event will be available for those aged 12+.
Swindon Town, Chief Commercial Officer, James Watts on the upcoming event: “We are delighted to announce this huge event for the people of Wiltshire.
This shows the capabilities of The County Ground in being more than just a Football Stadium and we look forward to a great event next May.”
