Survivor charity shop launches January sale in Swindon

Shoppers in Swindon are being encouraged to start the year with a bargain while supporting a local cause, as the Survivor charity shop has launched its January sale.

The shop, located in The Parade, is offering 50 per cent off items for a limited time, with all proceeds supporting Society Without Abuse (SWA) and its work to reduce the impact of domestic abuse on men, women and children across the town.

The Survivor shop stocks a wide range of donated items, including clothing, accessories, toys and homewares. Funds raised go directly towards SWA’s specialist services, which support victims as they work to recover from the trauma of abuse.

Alongside its frontline support, the charity also delivers prevention programmes aimed at reducing domestic abuse in the future. This includes work with schools and colleges to help young people recognise the warning signs of abusive behaviour, as well as one-to-one interventions with those responsible for harm.

Kate Rowland, Chief Executive of Society Without Abuse, said the sale offered both value for shoppers and vital support for the charity’s work.

“Our Survivor shop is a real treasure trove and offers something for everyone,” she said. “We’re fortunate to receive high-quality donations, meaning we can stock everything from baby items and toys to homeware, clothes for all occasions, shoes and accessories.

“With everything half price for two weeks, it’s a great opportunity for people to find what they need while also helping us support individuals and families in Swindon.”

She added: “Every purchase brings us closer to a future without domestic abuse. With one in four people experiencing domestic abuse during their lifetime, and the fact it affects people of all ages, genders and backgrounds, it’s something the whole community needs to stand together against.”

The Survivor shop is open Monday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm. The January sale runs until Saturday, February 7.
