Support Swindon’s Charity Sector: Dressability Seeks New Trustees

Dressability, a beacon of support within Swindon’s charity sector, is extending an invitation to those eager to contribute their time and expertise.

The charity, renowned for its dedication to aiding individuals with disabilities and limited dexterity, is currently seeking new trustees, particularly those with a background in business or expertise in media and marketing.

Established in 1998, Dressability offers heavily subsidised alterations to cater to people’s clothing needs. Their ethos revolves around more than just stitching and seams; it’s about empowerment and independence. By adapting clothing to fit individuals’ needs without compromising on style, Dressability ensures that personal choice and dignity remain intact.

Your Holiday Starts Now

At Dressability, it’s not just about alterations; it’s about crafting solutions to everyday challenges. From hems to haberdashery, every alteration is infused with care and consideration. The charity’s fully accessible premises welcome clients, with an outreach service available for those without transport.

Dressability is calling upon individuals with a passion for making a difference. Whether you have experience caring for someone with a disability or recent involvement in healthcare settings, your expertise is invaluable.

Board meetings are held every two months at Bradbury House on a weekday evening between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. The board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of Dressability and guides the manager who implements the direction.

If you’re ready to join this great cause and contribute to Swindon’s vibrant charity sector, reach out to Heleana Bouyamourn at heleanab@hotmail.com to find out more about becoming a trustee.
