Royal Wootton Bassett Academy is embracing the spirit of Christmas by generously donating gifts to those in need.
The academy orchestrated a series of festive events, including a heartwarming Harvest Festival, a lively Christmas Jumper Day, and a delightful initiative delivering chocolates to the elderly community.
On the 7th of December, students and staff adorned themselves in their most festive Christmas attire. The result was not just a visual spectacle but also a meaningful one, as the school successfully fundraised an impressive £1000 for Save the Children.
A moment of pride for the academy came when they learned that they emerged as the largest single contributor to the Swindon Food Collective. At the school’s Harvest Festival, a collection point for food and household items, both staff and students rallied together to support this cause.
A cherished tradition at the academy involves Year 11 students spreading joy to the elderly by delivering chocolates during the Christmas season. This year’s event saw an increased participation from students, a testament to the growing list of elderly residents benefiting from this heartwarming initiative. The success of this initiative wouldn’t be possible without the invaluable support from Richard Crapper at Crapper and Sons Landfill Ltd.
Reflecting on this generous outpouring of goodwill, David Storey, an Associate Leadership Team Member at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, expressed his delight, saying, “I am overjoyed with the generosity and hard work each of our students have put in to make all this possible. Christmas is a time for giving, and we hope that our gifts can spread the joy of Christmas to those who need it. With an extra special thank you to Richard from Crapper and Sons Landfill Ltd.”
