Six teenagers are due to appear before Swindon Youth Court later this month after being charged in connection with a violent incident that left a fellow teenager seriously injured.
The charges stem from an assault which occurred outside St Joseph’s Catholic College on 12th March 2024. The victim, a 14-year-old boy at the time, suffered serious injuries during the attack. He is now 15.
The six boys, whose ages range from 13 to 17, are facing charges under Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act – grievous bodily harm with intent. Two of them, aged 13 and 17, are also charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
All six have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear in Swindon Youth Court on 30th April.
Police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and are continuing to work with the school and relevant authorities to ensure support is available for those affected.
