Sir Robert Buckland MP Applauds Government Reforms to Empower Small Businesses and Apprentices in South Swindon

Sir Robert Buckland MP, has welcomed the significant reforms introduced by the Conservative Government aimed at bolstering small businesses and apprenticeships, unlocking their full potential, and ushering in a brighter future.

Since 2010, the apprenticeship system has facilitated over 5.7 million apprenticeships and fostered avenues for young individuals to acquire the necessary skills for success.

Building upon this foundation, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has unveiled pivotal reforms, effective from 1st April 2024. The government will now fully fund apprenticeships for young people in small businesses, eliminating financial barriers and amplifying opportunities for career initiation. Moreover, there will be a substantial increase in the proportion of funding that large employers, who contribute to the Apprenticeship Levy, can allocate to other businesses, escalating from 25% to 50%.
