A local housebuilder has marked World Book Day by launching a pop-up library at its Badbury Park development in Swindon, inviting local children to pick up a free book and discover the joy of reading.
Redrow South West has set up the library at the sales centre on Homington Avenue, giving local families the chance to choose from a selection of popular children’s books. The collection includes well-loved stories such as those from the Elmer series and a range of bedtime favourites.
To keep the library well-stocked, Redrow is encouraging the local community to donate any unwanted children’s books. Donations can be made directly at the sales centre, where a member of the team will be on hand to collect them.
Sian Smith, Sales Director for Redrow South West, said: “At Redrow, we’re always looking for ways to support the local community and make a positive difference. Reading plays a vital role in a child’s development, and not every child has easy access to books at home. We hope the pop-up library will inspire a love of reading and help ensure every child has a book to enjoy.”
“We’re also inviting the local community to donate any unwanted books so the library remains a valuable resource for local families. We look forward to welcoming Swindon book lovers to Badbury Park.”
The library is stocked with a limited number of books, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Badbury Park is one of Redrow’s 14 developments across the South West. Located near Coate Water Park and within easy reach of the M4 and Swindon town centre, the development offers a mix of modern living and green spaces – ideal for first-time buyers, growing families, and commuters alike.
