The first-ever St Benedict Beer Festival descends upon St Mark’s Church on Saturday 12th July 2025.
From midday until 10pm, visitors are invited to gather at the historic Church Place venue for a day brimming with fine ales, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun.
The festival will boast an impressive selection of at least 20 carefully curated beers and ciders, promising something for every palate. For those seeking a truly unique tipple, the event will exclusively debut ‘Rev’d Up’ – a special pale ale brewed by The Rusty Garage Brewpub. Drawing inspiration from medieval recipes, this one-off creation blends subtle hops with delicate herbs for a fresh yet traditional taste, and with an approachable ABV of around 3.5–3.8%, it’s ideal for a summer afternoon.
Visitors can expect a lively atmosphere with live music at 7pm from the talented Kelly Sings Country, plus plenty of chances to win prizes in the festival raffle – including an exciting brewery tour of Arkell’s. Entry is just £12, which includes a souvenir glass, festival programme, and a complimentary half pint of beer, cider, or soft drink.
Drinks will be served by the half pint at £2 each, with tokens available at the ticket desk on arrival. CAMRA members will be pleased to know they’ll receive an additional half pint free by presenting a valid membership card.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online via Christ Church Swindon’s website, or in person from The Glue Pot in Emlyn Square or Sinking the Ink on Rodbourne Road. Alternatively, festivalgoers can secure tickets on the day at the entrance.
Every penny raised will go towards supporting the ministry and outreach work of the parish of Swindon New Town, making it an afternoon of refreshment with a truly meaningful cause.
