PrintClever, a print company based in Swindon’s Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, is poised to achieve an impressive £8 million turnover following the launch of its state-of-the-art direct-to-garment factory.
Over eight years, PrintClever has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving from a modest home garage operation to a large-scale factory employing 80 individuals and collaborating with globally recognised brands.
The company’s commitment to expansion led to a substantial investment of £500,000 in enlarging its premises and acquiring cutting-edge machinery. This strategic move has increased production capacity to an impressive 3,000 garments per day. Notably, PrintClever invested in eight direct-to-garment printers from Brother, comprising four GTX Pro Bulks and four Brother GTX600s.
Additionally, the company acquired four Schulze pre-treatment machines, three Chiossi e Cavazzuti tunnel dryers, a Chiossi e Cavazzuti t-shirt folding line, and two Melco embroidery machines. The investment has significantly bolstered PrintClever’s capabilities and positioned it as a key player in the print-on-demand industry.
As the festive season approaches, the PrintClever team is operating at full throttle, producing a finished garment every 35 seconds and running 24 hours a day. To meet the surge in seasonal demand, approximately 50 new staff members have been recruited.
Since the expansion started in March 2022, PrintClever has successfully secured major deals with renowned household names, music corporations, gaming companies, and even a Hollywood film production company. With what is believed to be the largest product range in the UK, PrintClever is swiftly emerging as one of the most successful print-on-demand companies.
CEO and founder Ryan Acres, 29, reflected on the journey, stating, “Back in March 2022, we took a bold step forward into the direct-to-garment industry, buying our first Brother machine. Fast forward 20 months, and we’ve really made our entrance into the market—becoming one of the UK’s largest print-on-demand garment manufacturers. It’s been an incredible journey.”
Acres, who initially started the business in his parent’s garage, expressed pride and gratitude for the dedicated teams across all departments at all levels that have contributed to PrintClever’s success. He added, “Words can’t fully express how proud and humbled I feel, but I know that PrintClever’s success is very much down to our dedicated teams across all departments at all levels.”
