Wiltshire Police have issued an urgent appeal to locate the driver of a van who may have witnessed a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a car in Swindon. Officers believe the van’s driver could hold crucial information to aid their ongoing investigation.
The incident occurred on Monday 10th June at approximately 3.30pm. A KTM 125 motorcycle was travelling along Okus Road towards Bath Road when it collided with a Nissan Qashqai, which was turning right from Curie Avenue onto Okus Road.
The 19-year-old motorcyclist sustained potentially life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital, where he continues to receive treatment.
Investigators have released an image of a van that was immediately ahead of the Nissan Qashqai and turned right onto Okus Road moments before the collision. Although the registration plate is not visible and no obvious branding can be identified, the van’s distinctive markings could help someone recognise it.
Officers are eager to speak with the van’s driver, who may have seen the collision unfold or hold other information critical to understanding exactly what happened.
A police spokesperson said: “We are asking the driver of the van shown in the image, or anyone who recognises it, to please come forward. Any detail, however small it might seem, could be vital to our investigation.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101 and quoting reference 54250070492.
