Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted and robbed of his bicycle on Tuesday evening (17th September).
The incident occurred between 7.40pm and 8.10pm at the corner of County Road and the Magic Roundabout, in full view of the public.
According to police reports, the 17-year-old victim was approached by three unknown males who demanded his bike. When the teenager refused to comply, one of the suspects punched him in the face and took the bicycle. The suspects then fled the scene, with two riding pushbikes and the third making off on the victim’s bike.
The suspects are described as white males. One was wearing a long-sleeve, light-coloured jacket, another was dressed in grey tracksuits, and the third suspect was seen in shorts, carrying a backpack, and wearing a dark-coloured top.
Inspector Kennedy, from the Swindon police, stressed the seriousness of the incident: “This is a serious incident where a teenager has been assaulted and had his bike stolen. The attack took place on a busy road in full public view, and CCTV footage shows several members of the public and passing cars as it happened.”
The police are particularly keen to speak with a potential witness, described as a man in a dark-coloured top, carrying a shopping bag, who was walking near the scene as the victim was trying to flee the suspects.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101, quoting reference 54240110064.
