Police appeal for witnesses after man seen hitting dog with a walking stick then kicking it!

Police are urging witnesses to come forward with any information regarding a concerning incident that occurred on Wheatcroft Way on February 6th at approximately 2:45 pm.

A couple was seen walking their dog in the Walcot area before boarding the S6 bus. A  witness has reported to police seeing a man, accompanying the couple, allegedly subjected the dog to physical abuse. The witness reported seeing the man attacking the dog with a walking stick and kicking the animal.

The dog has been described as a white and tan-colored bulldog, though possibly a crossbreed.

The man was reported to be wearing a red cap, a black coat, and a beige scarf. Described as either black or Asian, the man was accompanied by a woman wearing a black coat with a fur hood.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses information that could aid in the identification of those involved to come forward.
