Police are appealing for dash cam or cycle cam footage following an attempted robbery at a well-known jewellers in Swindon’s Old Town earlier this week.
The incident took place at Deacons Jewellers on Wood Street at around 3.15pm on Tuesday, 8th July, when suspects tried to smash their way through the shop’s windows to steal jewellery. The offenders were unsuccessful in their attempt and fled the scene shortly afterwards.
Detectives believe the individuals responsible may have used the route along Pipers Way in Swindon both before and after the attempted robbery. They are now calling on anyone who travelled along that route between 2.15pm and 3.45pm that day to check their dash cam or cycle cam recordings.
Officers say the footage could be crucial in identifying the suspects or tracing their movements around the time of the offence.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or cycle cam footage which could assist with our investigation. Even if you think the footage might not be relevant, please get in touch and let us assess it.”
