Residents living along Hillingdon Road have been left unsettled following a series of criminal damage incidents targeting property and vehicles in the days leading up to Christmas.
Wiltshire Police say the offences took place over several days between 19 and 23 December, with damage reported at different times, including during the early hours of the morning.
The first incident was recorded at around midday on Thursday 19 December, with further reports coming in during the following days. Officers believe the same group may be responsible.
Those involved were seen riding electric bikes and were described as wearing dark clothing along with balaclavas.
Acting Detective Sergeant Will Saunders said the incidents were being treated seriously due to the impact on the local community.
“Creating safer public spaces is a priority for Wiltshire Police,” he said. “These incidents are worrying for residents and we are taking them seriously. We have increased high-visibility patrols in the area to reassure the community and reduce the risk of further damage.”
Police are also keen to trace a white van that was seen in the area during the incident on 19 December. Officers believe the driver may have information that could assist the investigation.
“We would urge anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour, or who has information that could help our enquiries, to come forward,” DS Saunders added. “Even a small detail could prove important in helping us identify those responsible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101. Reports can also be made online, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
