Pints, People, and Pure Joy – Old Town Beer & Cider Festival Smashes Records in 2025

A true Swindon success story unfolded once again this year, as the Old Town Beer & Cider Festival returned to Christ Church for its twelfth edition – and what a return it was.

Drawing in over 1,400 attendees across four days, this beloved community fixture shattered previous records, not least with a staggering 950 guests enjoying the Saturday celebrations alone. For a festival that prides itself on its roots, warm atmosphere and purpose-driven ethos, 2025 marked a high point in more ways than one.

Your Holiday Starts Now

Revellers enjoyed a thoughtfully curated mix of events, from a lively comedy night and an electric live music evening, to a closing concert led by the always-impressive Wessex Male Choir – whose performance offered a grand and fitting finale.

The Numbers Tell Their Own Story

Festivalgoers raised their glasses to the tune of 3,600 pints of beer and 1,400 pints of cider – leaving just half a cask of ale and three lonely pints of cider by the end of Sunday. Even the alcohol-free selections were drained, such was the thirst for good times. Thankfully, last-minute deliveries ensured the bar didn’t run dry, keeping the crowds cheerful and well served.

Organisers were quick to praise not only the turnout, but the sense of togetherness the event fostered.

“We’re absolutely delighted,” they said. “It was our biggest year to date, and the feedback has been incredible. People commented on the great range of drinks, the atmosphere, and the brilliant volunteers who kept everything running without a hitch.”

Backing the Festival, Backing the Community

A huge part of the festival’s success was down to its sponsors. Main supporters The Hop Inn, Broadtown Brewery, Gel Studios, Magnum Wineshop, and Fandangos were instrumental in bringing the event to life, alongside a host of other local businesses.

Crucially, proceeds from the festival will benefit both Christ Church and two important local charities – The Kelly Foundation and Prospect Hospice – ensuring the community support continues long after the final pint has been pulled.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As the bunting comes down and the barrels are emptied, plans are already in motion for next year. The 13th Old Town Beer & Cider Festival is set for Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th May 2026 – and if this year is anything to go by, it’s not to be missed.

For updates and information, keep an eye on the festival’s official channels. Until next May, cheers to all who made 2025 one for the books.
