Local social enterprise Phoenix Enterprises is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for four lucky runners to take part in the 2026 London Marathon – all in aid of raising vital funds for the Swindon-based charity.
Applications are now open for those keen to tackle the iconic 26.2-mile course through the capital. But if running isn’t quite your pace, you can still play your part by sharing the opportunity with friends, family, or colleagues who might fancy the challenge.
Phoenix Enterprises has long been a beacon of support in the local community, working with adults across Swindon who face challenges including mental health conditions, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or barriers to employment. The money raised by those running the marathon in Phoenix’s name will go directly towards supporting this life-changing work.
Speaking on the fundraising push, a spokesperson for the organisation said:
“The London Marathon is more than a race – it’s a platform that helps us raise awareness and much-needed funds. Every step taken by our runners helps pave the way for someone in Swindon to rebuild their confidence and find their feet again.”
Applicants will need to complete a short form available through Phoenix Enterprises’ website, and the deadline to apply is 30 June 2025. Successful candidates will be notified the following week. If any selected runner later secures a ballot place, Phoenix will reallocate their charity place to another applicant.
The charity hopes the local community will come together, not only to run but to champion the cause in whatever way they can.
