Wiltshire Police is appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed a collision in Victoria Road, Old Town on 18 March.
At approximately 1am, a 47-year-old man was struck by a car outside 1801 and the Propsect charity shop at the top of the hill.
The man sustained suspected injuries to his ribs and was taken to the Great Western Hospital for treatment.
PC Mike Ramselaar said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Victoria Road around the time of this incident – it’s a busy area with lots of bars and this happened in the early hours of Sunday morning so it is likely there would have been witnesses to this incident.
“Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
