Parents and prospective pupils will have the opportunity to meet the new Executive Principal, Mr Jon Young, at The Deanery Church of England Academy’s open evening on Thursday, 26th September 2024. The event will run from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, offering an insight into life at the academy for parents of children in Years 5 and 6 who are considering the school for their secondary education.
Visitors will be given a tour of the academy, showcasing classrooms, displays of student work, and a range of resources and equipment. The evening will also feature hands-on activities for children, giving them a taste of what life is like at The Deanery. Pupil ambassadors will be available to provide personal insights, discussing their experiences at the school and showing examples of their own work.
Executive Principal Jon Young will deliver two presentations at 5:15 pm and 6:00 pm, where he will outline the exciting opportunities available for students and their families at The Deanery. Staff and members of the leadership team will also be present throughout the evening to answer any questions and offer further details about the school’s programmes and ethos.
The Deanery Church of England Academy is the latest secondary school to join The Park Academies Trust (TPAT), a growing Multi-Academy Trust that also includes the Kingfisher Primary School, which shares the same site. Since its opening in 2019, The Deanery has quickly established itself as a place of academic rigour, with a focus on holistic development, offering outstanding opportunities in sport, leadership, and the creative and performing arts.
Mr Young expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, saying, “We’re looking forward to welcoming prospective parents and pupils to our open evening. Our staff and pupil ambassadors are eager to show off our school’s excellent facilities and the high standard of work our students produce. Joining The Park Academies Trust marks an exciting new chapter for The Deanery, and we have ambitious plans for the future.”
