The National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) in Swindon is set to create a stir ahead of its upcoming autumn event with a series of live online broadcasts. As the UK’s only permanent venue dedicated to providing independent advice and support for homebuilding, the NSBRC has commissioned Swindon-based Visual PR to produce a trio of online talk shows, culminating in a live broadcast from the event itself in October.
Established in 2007, the NSBRC has welcomed over a quarter of a million visitors, assisting them in building better, more sustainable homes or improving their current properties. The centre’s upcoming two-day show on 11th and 12th October promises to be a significant event, featuring expert seminars, masterclasses, and case studies. More than 200 exhibitors will be on hand, offering services ranging from architecture to planning, alongside a trades area filled with professional expertise.
Harvey Fremlin, Managing Director of the NSBRC, hopes that these broadcasts will generate excitement around the event and increase awareness of the centre’s accessibility. “We want people to know that we’re here to support all kinds of projects, not just the big-budget ones. Whether it’s building a new home, renovating, or retrofitting for energy efficiency, we can help,” he said.
Chris Dawes, who leads Visual PR, will host the series titled ‘Self Build & Renovation: Live!’, bringing his team’s virtual studio expertise to the forefront. The broadcasts, set to air live on the NSBRC’s YouTube and social media channels, will be unscripted and feature a range of special guests. The shows will also be available for catch-up, with highlights shared across social media and audio versions available as podcasts on platforms like Spotify, Amazon, and Apple.
The live shows will be broadcast on 3rd September, 18th September, and 1st October, leading up to the final broadcast from the event itself on 11th October. Harvey Fremlin sees this as an opportunity to engage with both the seasoned self-builder and those new to the idea, providing valuable advice and insight. “We’ll be discussing what’s happening at the show, offering tips on self-build projects, and encouraging people to come along – either to the show or to visit us at another time.”
There are already plans to extend the series beyond October, with more broadcasts planned to promote the NSBRC’s next show in January. Chris Dawes of Visual PR added, “This series is a brilliant way to raise awareness of what the NSBRC offers, both in terms of facilities and expertise. We’re excited to help them connect with a wider audience and boost engagement both online and in-person.”
For those interested in watching the broadcasts, they can follow the NSBRC on their social media channels, including YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Free advance tickets for the NSBRC autumn show are available at https://www.nsbrc.co.uk/.
