Visitors to Longleat Safari Park will be able to get up close to some of the smallest creatures in the animal kingdom when a new interactive attraction opens this Easter.
The Wiltshire estate is launching “Tiny Titans”, a new immersive experience located inside the revamped handling hall in the park’s Animal Adventure area.
The attraction will introduce guests to a variety of invertebrates including beetles, spiders and snails, along with stick insects, millipedes and cockroaches.
Interactive Encounters with Small Creatures
According to Kim Ovens, Education and Engagement Lead at Longleat, the attraction responds to visitor feedback asking for more close-up animal encounters.
“We’re really pleased to breathe new life into our handling hall in Animal Adventure and bring back these interactive experiences,” she said.
“We are always listening to feedback, with many guests wanting to experience close encounters. While we’ve had similar opportunities during some seasonal events, we’re happy to bring back our popular smaller residents including the amazing spiders and beetles.”
The experience will be carefully managed by animal keepers, with interactions dependent on welfare considerations and daily conditions.
A New Home for Invertebrates
The newly refurbished space will feature naturalistic habitats designed to showcase a diverse range of species.
Visitors may see creatures such as:
-
Beetles
-
Katydids
-
Stick insects
-
Millipedes
-
Tarantulas
-
Scorpions
Keepers will also be on hand to explain how these animals survive and why invertebrates play such an important role in ecosystems.
“Our guests will be able to see a variety of beetles, katydids and spiders including some tarantulas and scorpions,” Kim added.
“It is a diverse mix and we hope visitors will learn a lot about how important they are to our ecosystem.”
Revamped Handling Hall
The handling hall has hosted several animal experiences in the past. More recently it was home to Longleat’s pair of sloths before they moved to the Longleat Bat Cave when it reopened in 2025.
The Tiny Titans exhibit will now become a permanent feature at the park and will be included within standard day tickets.
