A new furniture retailer has opened at The Brunel Shopping Centre, bringing a previously vacant unit back into use.
Home Clearance Outlet has taken over the former Poundland store, which closed in May last year, and has now opened its doors to shoppers.
The new store occupies a 6,000 square-foot unit and specialises in affordable furniture ranges. Shoppers can browse a wide selection of sofas and chairs, from compact suites to larger cinema-style sets, all of which are brand new and sourced from suppliers across the UK.
The store also stocks beds, including divan and ottoman styles, alongside a range of mattresses.
The Brunel opening marks the third location for Home Clearance Outlet, which already operates stores in Telford and Gloucester, and represents a further step in the company’s expansion.
Tim Knowles, Managing Director at FI Real Estate Management, said the opening was a positive sign for Swindon town centre.
“This is another good news story for the town centre and the local community,” he said. “The team at The Brunel Centre continue to focus on bringing in retailers that add value and choice for visitors, and Home Clearance Outlet is a welcome addition that complements our existing retail mix.”
Alongside its physical stores, Home Clearance Outlet also operates an online shop.
