A man has been charged in connection with a number of burglaries at shops in Swindon town centre.
Wiltshire Police were called to Iceland in Havelock Square shortly after 11.30pm on 30 December after an alarm was activated at the supermarket. Officers found damage to a glass door, along with a cabinet inside the store which had been targeted for alcohol.
Following enquiries, Dean Cochrane, 44, of no fixed address, has now been charged with four counts of burglary. These include the incident at Iceland, along with reported break-ins at Tesco in The Parade and Greggs in Havelock Square.
Cochrane has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 1 January.
