Following the incident in Ashton Keynes on Saturday 8th July 2017 where a nine-year-old girl was grabbed by a man in the Park Place area of the village, a 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted kidnapping and actual bodily harm.
Alexander Benfield from Lawrence Road, Cirencester remains in custody and will appear before Swindon Magistrates this morning Tuesday 11th July 2017.
Police enquiries are continuing and witnesses are still asked to come forward; if anyone heard or saw anything suspicious in the Park Place area of Ashton Keynes around midday on Saturday, please contact police on 101.
