Longevity Games Return to Moredon Sporting Hub This Sunday

This Sunday, Moredon Sporting Hub will once again play host to the Longevity Games – a unique fitness event that is quietly changing how Swindon thinks about staying active as the years go by.

Far from a traditional competition, the Longevity Games bring together people of all ages and abilities, offering a series of functional movements and exercises designed to maintain health, build strength and encourage confidence. The aim is simple: to show that growing older does not have to mean slowing down.

Founder Tim Howe explained: “This is not just about exercise. It is about giving people the confidence to move more, connect more and ultimately enjoy longer, healthier lives.”

Backed by a cross-party group of Swindon councillors, the Games have earned admiration far beyond the sporting community. Council Leader Cllr Jim Robbins, along with Junab Ali, Stanka Adamcova, Leon Grother, Mike Davies, Suresha Gattapur, Daniel Adams, Cherie Adams, Jake Chandler, Leigh Jackson, Paul Park and Jamal Miah, have all shown their support.

Mr Howe added: “To see councillors from across the political divide come together for this is inspiring. It sends out a clear message – when it comes to helping Swindon age well, we are all on the same side.”

Sunday’s event also has a special treat in store, with Gladiator semi-finalist Joe Holroyd making a guest appearance, offering encouragement to those taking part.

For anyone keen to get involved, the next Longevity Games after this weekend will be held at Swindon Athletic Track, next to the County Ground, on 14 September. Full details can be found at thelongevitygames.co.uk.
