Following a three-year hiatus, Prospect Hospice has announced the return of its beloved yearly garden fete.
Scheduled for Saturday, 9th September, commencing at midday, the fete will take place at the gardens of Prospect Hospice located in Wroughton. The fete was alwas a highlight of the summer calendar for local people and visitors alike and this year’s event is set to be bigger and better than ever, offering a wide range of family-friendly activities, entertainment, and delicious food options.
The garden fete, a treasured custom within the community, had regrettably faced cancellations over the past three years. Nonetheless, the charity has been working hard to ensure its return to help raise essential funds in support of the exceptional end-of-life care it offers to patients and their families.
Those attending can expect a vibrant line up of live entertainment throughout the day, food provided by the hospice’s catering team, games, stalls and a raffle.
“We are absolutely delighted to bring back our annual garden fete.” said Sheryl Crouch, head of income at the charity.
“This event is not only a joyful celebration of community spirit but also a significant fundraising opportunity to support the free specialised care we provide to patients and their families. It will also be the first opportunity for people see our ‘Remember Me’ roses installation to celebrate the lives and honour the memories of loved ones no longer with us.”
“Our fete is only made possible thanks to the dedicated support of volunteers, local businesses, and the community. We are grateful to all those who have contributed their time and resources to ensure the success of this event. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and create wonderful memories together.”
There will be a free park and ride service, kindly provided by Swindon Bus Company, as visitors will not be able to park at the hospice on the day. Buses will run throughout the day to and from Nationwide on Pipers Way.
