Local Businessman Donates Over 100 Swindon Town Tickets to Young Footballers

A group of young footballers from Swindon will get the chance to cheer on their local team this weekend, thanks to a generous donation from local businessman Jason Ranford.

Jason, owner of JRT, has gifted over 100 tickets for Swindon Town’s match against Port Vale this Saturday to the coaches and players of Abbey Meads Purples across all age groups.

Explaining his decision, Jason said: “I promised this year I would start giving back whilst I was in a position to do so.

“This weekend, JRT has given over 100 tickets to the coaches and players of Abbey Meads Purples across all age ranges for the Port Vale game. Hopefully, they can cheer them on to another three points. Come on you Reds!”

The generous donation has been warmly received by Abbey Meads Purples, whose young players will get to experience a live matchday at the County Ground, many for the first time.

A spokesperson from Abbey Meads FC said: “We are incredibly grateful to Jason and JRT for this amazing gesture. It means so much to our young players to be able to watch Swindon Town in action, and it’s something they will remember for a long time.

“The support for grassroots football in Swindon is fantastic, and this donation is a perfect example of that. Thank you, Jason!”

Swindon Town will be hoping the extra vocal support from the young fans can spur them on to another victory, as Ian Holloway looks to avoid the so-called ‘Manager of the Month Curse’ after being nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award after picking up 13 points from six games.
