Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity has announced an exciting new partnership with Bath Racecourse, marking a major milestone following the Charity’s rebrand in late 2024 which saw Bath added to its name to better reflect the area it serves.
The collaboration sets the stage for a standout event in the local calendar – The Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity Raceday – which will take place on Wednesday 16 July 2025. With tickets now on sale, the raceday promises to be a celebration of horseracing, community, and crucially, the lifesaving work delivered by the Charity across the region.
Speaking on the announcement, the Charity’s corporate fundraiser, Imogen Linham, shared her enthusiasm: “We are incredibly excited to join forces with Bath Racecourse. This collaboration will help us raise awareness about the critical care services we regularly provide across Bath, as well as bringing the community together to support our lifesaving work.”
In 2024 alone, the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity responded to 117 emergency missions in Bath, transferring 109 patients to the Royal United Hospital. The team also attended 25 horse riding-related incidents – more than any other sporting activity – highlighting just how relevant this partnership is with one of the South West’s most iconic racing venues.
Bath Racecourse’s new executive director, Hannah Chree, echoed that sentiment: “We are delighted to partner with Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity. The raceday in July will be a fantastic event, and we look forward to offering racegoers the chance to learn more about the Charity’s essential contribution to the city of Bath and beyond.”
Operating both on land and in the air, the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity provides critical medical care to those in urgent need – 365 days a year. With an annual running cost of around £5 million, the Charity relies heavily on donations, community events and collaborations such as this to keep its service airborne.
The 2025 Bath Racecourse season features 19 racedays, with the Charity Raceday standing out as one with heart – pairing thrilling sport with an opportunity to support those who help save lives.
