A poignant and touching project has found its way to Kingsdown Cemetery, bringing solace and comfort to grieving hearts in Swindon.
A special postbox, dedicated to encouraging heartfelt letters to deceased loved ones, has recently been installed at the cemetery, offering a unique means of connecting with those no longer present in physical form.
For those who have lost someone dear, this thoughtful postbox provides an opportunity to write and post letters to their departed loved ones. Grieving families can pen their thoughts, share cherished memories, and seek closure by sending their letters through the secure postbox.
This initiative aims to provide a sense of peace and healing to families dealing with loss. Writing to missed loved ones and expressing their feelings through letters can be a therapeutic and cathartic experience.
This heartwarming scheme draws its inspiration from Matilda Handy, a remarkable nine-year-old from Nottingham. Faced with the loss of her grandparents, Matilda envisioned the concept of ‘postboxes to heaven.’ Her heartfelt idea has now spread across the UK, with dozens of crematoriums embracing the initiative.
