The Swindonian are asking people to raise a glass for the emergency services and brave servicemen and women stationed overseas this Christmas.
Many 999 staff will have to work this Christmas Day – in case you need them meaning December 25th is just another day.
The fire, police and ambulance services will have staff on duty as they do 365 days of the year and of course all of those working at The Great western Hospital and care homes throughout the town.
Many will forgo the pleasure of being home with their families to celebrate Christmas and will instead be on standby to respond to any emergencies.
If you are out and about this Christmas please say hello and thank you to the emergency services to help them feel valued whilst others are at home with their families.
