Lawn Manor Academy is celebrating a successful fundraising drive for Comic Relief, with the school community coming together to raise an impressive £549 for the charitable cause. Through a series of engaging activities including a non-uniform day and a tantalising bake sale, pupils and staff rallied to support those in need.
Students embraced the spirit of giving by donning their finest red attire in honour of Comic Relief, with donations pouring in to contribute to the fundraising efforts. The school buzzed with excitement as staff tantalised taste buds with delectable homemade treats, selling out in a mere 10 minutes. Adding to the festivities, lunchtime games, including the lively Rock, Paper, Scissors, Hoop challenge, brought fun and laughter as participants vied for victory while contributing to the charitable cause.
Marek Koza, Assistant Headteacher at Lawn Manor Academy, expressed pride in the school community’s generosity and enthusiasm. “We’re very pleased to have raised £549.49 for Comic Relief this year,” he remarked. “The majority of this money was donated by our pupils and their families, demonstrating their commitment to making a difference.”
Comic Relief’s mission to alleviate poverty and support disadvantaged individuals resonates deeply with Lawn Manor Academy’s values, providing a platform for meaningful discussions on global and local issues. Koza talked about the importance of engaging students in such charitable initiatives, fostering empathy and awareness of social responsibility.
