Three South West business networks are marking International Women’s Day by joining forces to shine a light on one of the most effective — and often underestimated — drivers of long-term success: collaboration.
Businesswomen UnLtd, Connect Network and Swindon-based PR agency Scott Media are hosting a free online webinar on Friday 6 March, inviting business owners and professionals to explore how working together can unlock growth, resilience and opportunity.
The session, which runs from 10am to 11.45am, is open to anyone keen to move beyond the traditional ‘go-it-alone’ approach to business and instead build progress through partnership and shared learning.
Debbie Gilbert, founder of Businesswomen UnLtd, said the event reflects a shift in how many people now choose to do business.
“In a world that still rewards competition and individual achievement, more people are choosing a different path — one built on partnership, shared growth and collective impact,” she said. “Our interactive online event brings businesses together to explore how collaboration accelerates success.”
The webinar also complements this year’s International Women’s Day theme, Give to Gain, highlighting how working together can create meaningful and lasting change.
Fiona Scott, founder of Scott Media, said the session would focus on real experiences rather than theory.
“By listening to real-life growth stories and challenging the idea that success has to be a solo journey, we hope people will build genuine connections and take away practical tools for collaborating more effectively,” she said.
“Although the event celebrates International Women’s Day, it’s open to people of all genders and identities — because collaboration works for everyone.”
Stefan Thomas, founder of Connect Network, said the principle sits at the heart of his own business journey.
“Collaboration is how I built my business, so when Debbie and Fiona invited me to be part of an event focused on the power of collaboration, it felt like a natural fit,” he said.
“When people stick together, great things happen. I’ve known both Fiona and Debbie for around fifteen years, and they’ve each built businesses and communities where collaboration is the cornerstone.”
The free webinar takes place on Friday 6 March from 10am to 11.45am.
