Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Swindon.
At approximately 3pm on 2 April, a 13-year-old boy and a friend were crossing the road near the Delta Business Park, when a driver got out of his car and started shouting at him before grabbing him by the neck, causing a red mark.
The boy managed to run away with his friend.
PC Sean Magee said: “The incident happened in broad daylight on Bank Holiday Monday – therefore it is likely that there are witnesses to the incident who may have some vital information.
“Understandably, the victim was left really shaken and upset about the incident.”
The man is described as white, aged in his mid-30s, 5 ft 10 inches tall, of large build. He had short brown hair and was wearing a grey jumper, black trousers and black shoes.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
