How many coronavirus cases are in the UK – and where are they?

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, the latest figures show there are now more than 223,000 confirmed coronavirus cases throughout the UK and more than 32,000 people have died.

These number exclude deaths where Covid-19 appeared on the death certificate, but the person had not been tested for the virus.

Swindon currently has an infection rate of 184.7 per 100,000 of the population placing the town 38th out of the 151 local authorities with Wiltshire reporting 98.6, the sixth lowest are in England with Gateshead currently reporting an infection rate of 479, the worst in England and Rutland, the lowest rate of infection reporting just 65.5.
