Two Prospect Hospice nurses took their commitment to patient care to new heights – quite literally – when they jumped from a plane to raise money for the charity they serve.
Kimberly, Acting Team Leader, and Sarah, Senior Registered Nurse, from the hospice’s Inpatient Unit, completed their skydive on Sunday 10th August.
The daring challenge was a personal tribute to the patients and families they support every day, and a way to give something back to the hospice that has been at the heart of the community for 45 years.
Both nurses paid for the skydive themselves, meaning every pound raised – over £1,500 so far – will go directly towards providing specialist, compassionate care for people living with life-limiting illnesses.
Kimberly said:
“We see every day just how much difference the hospice makes to people at the most difficult time in their lives. This is our way of helping to ensure more families can continue to receive that same care and support. It’s completely out of our comfort zones, but it’s for such an important cause.”
Prospect Hospice relies heavily on fundraising to keep its services running, and with community champions like Kimberly and Sarah stepping forward, the charity hopes to continue supporting families for many years to come.
