Hollywood Glamour Marks Amazon Team Celebration in Swindon

The team at Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Swindon rang in the new year with a touch of Hollywood glamour at a spectacular party held at MECA Swindon in Regent Circus. The event, which was themed around the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown, celebrated the dedication of hundreds of employees who worked tirelessly through the company’s busiest period, known as ‘peak’.

During the pre-Christmas shopping frenzy, Amazon recruits thousands of seasonal workers to bolster its teams across the UK. Once the festive hustle and bustle subsides, the company shows its appreciation with celebratory events at fulfilment centres nationwide.

David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, praised the team’s efforts, saying, “As other workplaces are winding down for Christmas, operations in our fulfilment centre ramp up. It takes a huge team of people to ensure that every item ordered on Amazon throughout the festive season gets into customers’ hands safely and efficiently.

“That couldn’t be achieved without our colleagues at Amazon in Swindon, so we wanted to mark and reward that with a post-festive season party. We’ve kicked off this new year together by celebrating all that we achieved last year, and I, for one, am looking forward to another brilliant year.”

Among those attending the celebration was Elton Mendes, an Amazon employee from Swindon, who reflected on the occasion. He shared, “It was brilliant to see out our busiest season in 2024 and see in 2025 with a big event to celebrate teamwork and fun. I’m ready to get stuck into whatever this year holds for us at Amazon in Swindon.”

The celebration was not only a chance for employees to let their hair down but also an opportunity to acknowledge their collective achievements during a demanding yet rewarding period. With the new year underway, the team at Amazon in Swindon is ready to take on the challenges ahead, bolstered by the camaraderie and recognition fostered at this memorable event.
