Football stadiums in Tier 2 will be able to serve alcohol without a substantial meal

On the eve of the new lockdown tiers being introduced in England, one of the new rules which appears to be the most controversial is alcohol not being able to be served unless it is accompanied by a ‘substantial meal.’

The question then raised is what counts as a ‘substantial meal?’

If you are heading to The County Ground nth the substantial meal conundrum will not be an issue as it has been noted that the substantial meal rule will not need to be adhered to in football stadia.

But, there is an issue for Town fans as the new rules state ‘patrons will have to remain seated on the concourse whilst drinking their pint, and won’t be allowed to face the pitch or take drinks back to their seat.’

So, remember if you are wanting a pint at the game you will need to take a seat with you!

Unless of course the hierarchy at SN1 are reading this and they fancy moving the chairs from the Winners Lounge up to the North Stand councourse that is.
