In an inspiring display of dedication and resilience, Jim and Milo Dundas, a father-son duo, triumphed over an 18-hour padel tennis marathon, raising an impressive £35,700 for the charity Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
The marathon took place at Padel4All’s centre in Swindon, where the pair played continuously from 6 AM until midnight, facing various opponents in a bid to support those affected by Crohn’s and colitis.

The Dundas family’s personal connection to these chronic inflammatory bowel diseases fueled their commitment to the challenge. Milo Dundas was diagnosed with Crohn’s in 2015, and his older sister, Poppy, received a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis last year. Despite the family’s own battles with these conditions, they remained resilient and positive, inspiring their community with their upbeat spirit.
Crohn’s and Colitis UK, the chosen charity for this marathon, is dedicated to breaking taboos surrounding these diseases, promoting groundbreaking research, and fostering a supportive community for those affected. With an estimated half a million people in the UK living with these lifelong conditions, the charity’s mission is crucial in improving lives and raising awareness.
Padel tennis, known for its inclusivity and sociability, was the perfect sport for the 18-hour marathon. The Dundas duo played an impressive 469 games, securing victory in 434 of them. The physically demanding nature of playing padel for such an extended period posed a formidable challenge, but Jim and Milo’s determination prevailed as they aimed to enhance awareness and contribute funds for improved diagnosis and treatment.
Jim Dundas expressed his pride in the accomplishment, stating, “Words cannot express how proud I am of my son Milo and the accomplishment we have achieved together. We are so grateful for the overwhelming support we have received from the local community, the Padel4All team, and all charities involved. We hope our efforts go a long way in supporting Crohn’s and Colitis UK’s mission to change lives for the better.”

Padel4All Swindon’s Centre Manager, Luke Bedwell, shared the astonishment and enthusiasm of the Padel4All team in supporting the Dundas family. Hosting the 18-hour padel marathon at their Swindon centre, Bedwell expressed the pleasure of witnessing the incredible talent and devotion of the participants. The Padel4All team looks forward to seeing how the funds raised will contribute to the continuous efforts of Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
