Emily’s Pole Fitness Marks 15 Years of Strength, Community and Creativity

From a modest pub function room in 2010 to a thriving bespoke studio in the heart of Swindon, Emily’s Pole Fitness has come a long way – and this weekend, the team is inviting the town to help mark an incredible 15-year journey.

Founded by Emily Smith, the studio turned 15 on 6th April 2025 and will be celebrating the milestone with a free birthday party on Sunday 1st June from 12pm to 2pm at their Edgeware Road studio in Swindon town centre.

This isn’t just any party – it’s a celebration of creativity, empowerment and community spirit. Open to all, whether you’re a long-time student or simply curious about what pole and aerial dance is really like, the team welcomes everyone to pop in, take a look around and find out more about the classes on offer.

“It’s not just about fitness – it’s about expression, strength and building confidence,” Emily told The Swindonian. “When I first started out in that little pub room, I never imagined it would become the incredible community it is today. We’re proud of every person who’s walked through our doors.”

Emily’s Pole Fitness now offers adult classes in pole dance, aerial hoop and aerial silks every week, from Monday to Wednesday evenings. There’s also a growing programme of creative workshops, including the likes of aerial llama (yes, it’s a thing), handstands, floor work and more.

Children haven’t been left out either, with aerial hoop and silks classes for youngsters on Friday evenings, encouraging flexibility, confidence and fun in equal measure.

The studio’s unique style and warm atmosphere have made it one of Swindon’s most distinctive fitness venues. More than a place to train, it’s a space where individuals of all abilities are encouraged to push boundaries, try something new, and feel truly supported.

The 15th birthday celebration is free to attend and will feature taster sessions, chats with the team, and a great excuse to see the studio in action – whether you’re planning to sign up or just pop in for a slice of cake and a nose around.

So, if you’ve ever wondered what pole fitness or aerial dance is all about, this is your perfect chance to find out.
