Swindon-based charity, CALM (Children’s Cancer & Leukaemia Movement), is holding a special fundraising event this Saturday, 12th October, to raise vital funds for families affected by childhood cancer.
The event will take place at the Des Moffatt Western Community Centre from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and promises an afternoon of fun, games, and community spirit.
CALM is dedicated to providing emotional and financial support to families facing the unimaginable challenges of caring for a child with cancer. The charity not only offers day trips, parties, and events to bring joy to children but also organises caravan holidays for families to enjoy some much-needed respite. Remarkably, CALM operates without any government funding and doesn’t pay salaries—every penny raised through events like this goes directly to the families of CALM children.
This weekend’s fundraiser will feature a host of activities for all ages, including a raffle, Teddy Tombola, and a variety of games and activities. Guests can indulge in homemade cakes and refreshments, while children will love the glitter tattoos and balloon modelling courtesy of Totally Crazy Entertainment.
CALM relies entirely on community support to continue its essential work, and events like this play a crucial role in ensuring families receive the care and relief they need. Every donation, whether big or small, makes a difference.
For a day full of family fun, join CALM on 12th October at the Des Moffatt Western Community Centre and help support the vital work they do for local families.
