Phoenix Enterprises have come back from a devastating break in just a few months ago but are now faced with their biggest challenge yet.
The charity who have helped improve the lives of many local people struggling with mental health issues, with 58 going into full time employment elsewhere in the last three years, are in danger of having to close.
Phoenix Enterprises is a mailing fulfilment social enterprise offering their services through Swindon and the rest of the county.
Due to a number of client contracts ending and an end to private funding they are faced with a real threat of closure
Chairwoman of Phoenix, Emma Rees said: “Some of the companies we were working with have been bought out by companies who have the facilities in house to do the same work we do.
“We have also lost private funding as donations where companies have had to stop doing so to cut costs.”
“I would hate to think what would happen if we had to close?, It makes me quite sad to think about.”
Since the busy Christmas rush Phoenix have had to reduce the number of workers they can help from 50 down to 25 and should the slump continue they would have to reduce numbers further.
If you are able to help Phoenix continue the work they do or are in need of mail fulfilment services please check out the website www.phoenixnterprises.co.uk or give Emma a call on 01793 729902.
