Police are appealing for information following a daring overnight break-in at an electronics firm in Swindon’s Dorcan industrial estate.
The incident took place in the early hours of yesterday morning (18th April) between 12.20am and 2am, at a commercial premises on Faraday Road. According to initial reports, three individuals are believed to have been involved in the break-in, during which substantial structural damage was caused to the building.
In what appears to have been a carefully planned operation, the suspects reportedly used industrial-grade tools to drill large holes through the rear walls of the warehouse. This allowed them to bypass external security and access the building internally. Witnesses or those living or working nearby may have noticed unusual activity, including loud drilling noises, during the small hours.
Despite the scale of the attempted break-in – and a significant delivery having taken place only hours earlier at 4pm on Thursday – it has been confirmed that nothing was taken from the premises. Nonetheless, the incident has left the firm facing damage-related disruption and a sense of unease.
Police are now urging members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying those responsible.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police stated:
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Faraday Road area during the early hours of Friday morning and may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary. Even seemingly minor details could be useful in piecing together what happened.”
